Third-grade reading levels are a key predictor of future success, yet only 4 out of 10 North Texas students are proficient readers.

Read Up is a coalition of nonprofits, schools and community partners that align strategies and pool resources to improve early literacy outcomes.

Through coordinated, scalable solutions and shared action, we’re accelerating early literacy success across North Texas. This shared commitment is helping more students make bigger gains in reading, more than any organization could do alone.

From Shared Vision
to Regional Impact

Read Up was founded in 2017 through the Better Together Fund. The initiative united high-impact early literacy organizations in Dallas, grounded in the belief that lasting change comes from learning, operating and serving together.

With our commitment and the generous support of the North Texas funding community, Read Up has brought unprecedented collaboration and impact to addressing the early literacy crisis.
